Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in Puy de-Domme, France on the 9th of August, 1976. She was the eldest of four children. She was encouraged by dentist parents and a teacher who were both teachers in the pursuit of her desire in the theatre. This contrasted her earlier ambition to be a primatologist due to the fact that she was fascinated by monkeys. Her rise to fame as an actress in her early years was rapid and highlighted by early success. Following her studies in 1998 she took part in the French talent-scouting TV programme Jeunes Premiers sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors prior to beginning her acting career with a bang. Although she studied at an institution called the Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has since distanced herself from her Catholic upbringing by stating that she is not officially Catholic. Neben her acting, Tautou pursued modelling and was the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. Additionally, she is a keen love of photography. Recently, she put on an exhibit of work for the Arles Festival in France under the title Superficial. She focuses her photography on celebrities, fame and the public that scrutinised her since her rise to fame in Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of her self. Audrey Tautou rose to fame and stardom with her major role in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie earned international acclai record and also received praise during awards ceremonies around the world. It is the most successful French language film to be released in the US. In the years following the film, she appeared in a variety of films, that ranged from British dramatics, to Jean Pierre Jeunet's film Un long dimanche de fauncailles. Later, she made her way to Hollywood and appeared alongside Tom Hanks alongside Ron Howard in The Da Vinci Code.
