Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford was born in the US. She is an actor, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway productions included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers for most of her career. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed via Disney DTC. Ashford will be seen alongside Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the March 2023 revival of Stephensondheim's Sweeney Todd. This production will be produced by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which created Hamilton. Ashford's latest part was that of Paula Jones on Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the nationwide scandal that involved Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky, as well as Linda Tripp. Ashford appeared for two seasons in CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway was awarded both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her character of Essie. Other Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance, she was awarded a Tony Award nomination. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and is now dividing her life between Los Angeles, and New York.
